Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?
The first step to getting started on your journey to feeling better and making the most of your life is to contact us. You may also stop in during business hours if you prefer to have a conversation in person.

Do I need a prescription for physical therapy or occupational therapy?
You don’t need a doctor’s prescription for physical or occupational therapy, but some insurances require one before they will pay. We can help you find out what your insurance requirements are, and we can even help you get a prescription if needed.

What can I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit will usually last about an hour and will include a full evaluation performed by one of our therapists. We will talk about your condition and perform several tests to find out the best therapy options for you. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. We always try to make treatment a part of the first visit so that you can leave feeling better than when you came in.

How often do I need to attend therapy, and how long will each appointment take?
This depends on you, because everybody is different and every condition is unique. Your plan of care will be determined by you and your therapist. We strive to get you better as quickly as possible and we know that often means more frequent visits early on. The length of your appointment is also individualized, but generally appointments last about an hour.

What can I do at home to assist my recovery?
You are the most important part of your recovery!  Most patients are given a home exercise program, and the more consistent and dedicated you are to it, the more quickly you can recover.

Do you have a cancellation policy?
Our therapists are ready to provide services to you at your scheduled time, so we ask that if you must cancel or change an appointment, you do so 24 hours in advance. If you are unable to provide us a 24-hour notice, there will be a $50 charge for the missed appointment, unless you are able to reschedule during the same week.

Do you accept my insurance? How much will each visit cost me?
We accept, and are in network with, most insurances, including Workers’ Compensation. The amount you owe will depend on your insurance. We try to avoid surprises like unexpected copays or unmet deductibles, and we are happy to verify your insurance ahead of time so that you know what to expect.
